Our Endorsements for Plano City Council

The Plano chapter of the Texas Neighborhood Coalition endorses two strong supporters of getting short-term rentals out of our residential neighborhoods:

Council Member Shelby Williams, Place 5

Candidate Colleen Aguilar-Epstein, Place 3

Plano residents vote for all council seats. Please get out early and vote for Shelby and Colleen. And tell your friends and neighbors. Every vote helps our cause.

Shelby Williams (1).jpg

Council Member Shelby Williams has shown outstanding leadership on Plano City Council in addressing our call for getting short-term rentals out of our residential neighborhoods. He has signed our TNC Plano pledge to ban STRs in residential neighborhoods if re-elected. Shelby made an impassioned speech during the Feb 27th Plano City Council meeting after the shooting at an STR in Plano, and he requested an STR restriction ordinance. You can watch a video about his speech here. Williams is the leader that we need on City Council to drive this issue to completion

Colleen Aguilar-Epstein is a long-time Plano resident and a strong supporter of TNC Plano. Here is her position on STRs: Short-term rentals are replacing long-term trusted relationships among neighbors, with a revolving door of strangers who are occupying houses next door to families in residential neighborhoods.  I signed the [TNC Plano] pledge to ban STRs in Plano residential neighborhoods if elected to the Plano City Council place 3. Her opponent, Rick Horne, has not signed our pledge, even though the most recent shooting was in his own neighborhood.
